quote paulh50 :
I just returned from Vegas where I stayed at the New York- New York Hotel. This hotel may be nice and fancy and have a "roller coaster" but it pretty much sucks!
I checked in to an upgraded room and the only upgrade it had was a king bed instead of a queen.
The next morning at 7AM I hear a rotor hammer drilling holes. You'd think this place would care about the sleep of it's customers but, apparently, it doesn't. This morning I wake up at 5:30 AM to the sound of a hammer banging on concret on the floor above me.
I complained to the manager and he did not do any thing about it. Said he would get the contractors to stop. Bull Shit. Yeah, they stopped hammering but the guy would pound something once, wait about 10 mins and then hit it again.
I informed them, upon my check out at 8AM, I expected my room to be comped because I didn't pay to be awakened by noise in the early morning hours. You would have thought that they would have changed my room. I also informed them that if I didn't get a comp or something I would refuse to pay the CC bill. My credit union is very good about denying charges for good cause. I also plan to cantact the travel agency that set up my trip.
Stay away from this Hotel-Casino. They don't care about their guests one bit. Last week they had a multiple shooting in the Casino.
Today I called the travel agency I went through to book my flight and hotel in Vegas at the New York-New York Hotel to try and get something worked out. They called NY-NY and NY Hotel said they were not going to cut my bill or give me a credit on my CC because it was a pre-paid reservation.
I called the hotel and spoke with a manager and got the same BS. I then informed them that if that is the case then I would file a law suit against them in small claims court, in my home town, and they would have to send some one to respond to the suit, if the failed to send some one they would loose the law suit and I planned to sue them for $5K. They immediately changed their story. I am now going to recieve a 2 night comp stay.
Don't let hotel or any business give you any shit over a lousy stay. A law suit is bad publicity for hotels and after the shooting at NY-NY Hotel last week they don't need any more. Stick up for yourselves. Don't believe every thing you hear or are told. Check it out in more detail. There are many law offices and legal aid that give free legal advice on how to deal with companies.
Too bad their isn't an easier way to sue the government. There really is: VOTE! Always vote against the incumbent, that is the way to get their attention.
