I wanted to write about something, hoping some one else might write if the ice were broken.
Any way, this wheather we're having is the shits we haven't had any rain for three years and Lake Berryesa is still low as well as Clear Lake and Lake Mendincino over by Wilitts. The rain we did get came too late but it was and is desperately needed. I am very grateful that we did get some snow in the late season because it was heavier and wetter. I used to work for caltrans up at Kingvale for 7 years. I remember a drought back in the 70's that forced Woodland to drill whe city wells deeper now, due to the increase in pouplation, many of the places were wells were drilled have been declared unsafe for consumption and parts of Yolo county are sinking. If we don't get rain soon I'm sure sure Sacramento will start sinking, too. Santa Barbara fire is buring wildly and the winds have rreally screwed up the scene for the fire fighters. One summer I ran a fuel truck for the CDC (I was still working for Caltrans) and I was fueling a bull dozer when the operator yelled to get down and get cover. A fire fighter bomber had just opened it's doors and we were going to get hit. NO THANK YOU! I leave fire fighting to people more crazy than I. |
